January 24th in Washington DC
The March for Life is an inspiring, peaceful, vibrant, and joy-filled rally of women, men, young people, and children from all across the country. Every year, tens of thousands of pro-lifers converge on the National Mall and march on Capitol Hill on the anniversary of the Supreme Court’s 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling which legalized abortion in all 50 states. It’s the largest annual human rights demonstration in the world. But this is not just a protest…TOGETHER, WE GATHER TO CELEBRATE LIFE. We celebrate each and every life, from the moment of conception. We envision a world where every life is celebrated, valued, and protected. This year's march will take place on Friday, January 24th from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm in Washington DC. Event details are as follows:
9 a.m. — Divine Service at Immanuel Lutheran Church; 1801 Russell Road; Alexandria, Va. (Please RSVP if you plan to attend a complimentary continental breakfast following the service.) After breakfast, marchers will depart to the LCMS gathering location.
11 a.m. — The LCMS will start gathering at 12th Street and Madison Drive to prepare for the march with prayers and hymns.
Noon — March for Life Rally Program on National Mall.
1 p.m. — March for Life begins. The LCMS will join the march as it passes our gathering location.
Help us make 2020 the year with the largest contingent of Lutherans marching together in this life-affirming event. Please contact Kevin Dantuma if you are able to join us or if you would like to meet at OSW at 8:00 a.m. to ride together to Immanuel Lutheran Church.

No one can believe for anyone else. Following Jesus is an individual choice that we make with the help of the Holy Spirit. While this is true, it is also true that faith is not a solo experience. Faith grows in community. One of the most important steps we can make to grow our faith is to be in God’s Word and fellowship with other believers. When we are in community and get to know each other, share our stories, care for each other, and pray for each other, we experience the presence of Jesus in our lives. This is Jesus’ promise, “Where two or three come gathered in my name, there am I with them.” - Matthew 18:20.
On Sunday, January 26th, you will have a chance to meet our small group leaders and the opportunity to join a small group that meets your needs. You can also go to: OSWLC.ORG/CONNECT/SMALL-GROUPS and learn about the many small groups at OSWLC. Come grow with us!
Sunday January 26th is the next Family Worship Sunday
