There is power in prayer. In the Gospel of John, Jesus says, “Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.”
St. Paul even encourages continuous prayer among the believers at Colossae, saying, “Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ…”
Certainly, as individuals, not only do we receive blessings from God in the means of grace, but we also join together and pray as the body of Christ.
