Baptism provides God’s life-creating and life-giving Word with plain water in which we are born again of water and the Spirit of God. It is God’s means of grace that He gives to all who have been brought to faith by the preaching and teaching of God’s Word. It works the forgiveness of sins, and gives eternal life to all who believe in the words and promises of God. And it indicates that the old sinful self has been put to death with all sins and evil desires, so that a new man might emerge and daily rise to live in God’s righteousness and purity forever. While in emergency situations any Christian may baptize someone, it is more customary that a pastor will perform the baptism during a worship service. At Our Savior's Way, our pastors typically use a shell during one of our worship services to pour water on the head of the one being baptized with the words – “In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.” If you would like more information on baptism, please contact our |
