He is not one option among many, but the only Savior who brings sinners to the Father. Law: We want a spirituality we can customize and control. We look for “many ways” because we fear surrender. Gospel: Jesus Himself is the way home. He makes access by His mercy, speaks truth that frees, and gives life that cannot be undone. Confession Lord Jesus, we confess that we look for security in what we can manage. We want clarity without trust and comfort without surrender. Forgive our unbelief. When our hearts are troubled, draw us back to You as the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

Scripture Readings John 13:1–17, 34–35 Genesis 18:1–8 1 John 4:7–12 Big Idea Jesus’ love is not sentimental. It is cleansing, humble, and costly. He serves us first, and then He forms us into people who love as the forgiven. Law: We want to be seen as loving without taking the low place. We prefer control, comfort, and distance over humble service. Gospel: Jesus stoops to cleanse what is dirty. He serves sinners, not because they deserve it, but because His love goes to the end.

Scripture Readings John 11:45–57; John 12:1–11 Psalm 2:1–12 Acts 4:23–31 Big Idea When love becomes costly, hearts reveal what they worship. Jesus walks toward the cross willingly, not as a victim of events, but as the Savior who gives Himself for the life of the world. Law: We fear losing control, reputation, and comfort. We justify compromise and call it “wisdom,” even when it resists God’s truth. Gospel: Jesus does not protect Himself. He gives Himself. His death is not failure but the Father’s saving plan, and His love is stronger than our fear.

The resurrection turns grief into joy and fear into mission. Jesus is alive, and He still calls His people by name. Law: We look for life in dead places, and we assume loss has the final word. We grieve without hope and cling to what we can control. Gospel: Jesus is risen. He speaks our name, opens our eyes, and sends us with good news that death does not win.
